Handmade Steampunk Wearable Art: New Item From Olga Narozhna
One area of the complication that confuses me a bit is the chiming function. The chiming function is known as a minute repeater. A minute repeater is a watch that chiming upon the pressing of a button or performing some mechanical action to the watch. Alternatively, the most sophisticated version is a sonnerie, which is a watch that chimes in accordance with specific time intervals. Such as every hour, or every 15 minutes. The Citizen Campanola Grand Complication will tell you the time when you operate this minute repeater function. You press a button and a little song of chimes is played. These chimes come in two forms, and when interpreted, will tell you what time it is. The problem is that reading the chimes requires one to count and remember how to read them. Honestly, I learned when I first received the watch and have forgotten since. The quality and sound of the chimes themselves are beautiful, and likely to be equal to those of a mechanical minute repeater that uses actual hammers and gongs in the housing of the watch. The Citizen Campanola Grand Complication emulates these sounds perfectly and does so to “repeat” what the time is. Again, I can understand a bit of why Citizen chose to do this, and it is likely to do with power requirements. The watch uses a battery, like most quartz watches. If the watch were to chime all the time, it would likely deplete the battery life much more quickly. Alternatively, allowing the user to choose when the watch chimes, will lengthen the battery life. The only change I would make is to ensure that when the watch chimes, it is not a mathematical endeavor in figuring out what time it is. Still, thought did go into this and I realize the usefulness of the codes. Imagine for a moment if the watch was to indicate "9:58" in chimes. Having to make sound indicators for each number would take 20 seconds or more. 9 chimes for 9 o'clock, then another 58 chimes for 58 minutes? Think about this for a minute and realize what would go into such a function. No one would be able to keep count of what time it is. Instead the code will chime indicating intervals of 15 minute increments and such. While, the inclusion and operation of the chiming function can be debated, it is a nice feature to have, and showing your friends how it works always impressed. Displaying the watch and saying "listen to this," always yields a positive response.
Analysis: Both watches are based on existing Audemars Piguet models with just a few design differences and mostly the personalized engravings on each. Both are stellar and beautiful watches in their own regard. It boils down to the power of the person they are named after. Schwarzenegger is the worlds most popular action hero and feared terminator. He has battled the Predator, and saved the future. Now he is struggling to save California from itself, and appeal to bipartisan demands. Clinton was a successful world leader, is one of the most popular people on the planet, and can boast of a successful economy while the US was under his command. He now spends his time getting paid to do what he does best, talk.
Other than having the picture of Saddam on the face of the watch, the Certina is a "DS" watch model and most likely features a quartz movement with a gold plated case and leather band. A respectable watch by most standards, and certainly a testament to another era in world politics. In 2001 Iraq was by no means popular, but was flying under the radar a bit in terms of the geopolitical scene. It is hard not to compare this watch with something that might have Adolf Hitler's face on it, or any other infamous man of genocidal reputation.
Well-Done Double Retrograde From Pierre DeRoche: New Brand On The Scene
3. International Watch (IW): Decent magazine. Well written and often has good assortments of watches (i.e. issue on sport, or diving watches). There is nothing particularly standout about this magazine, but it is a worthwhile read for the dedicated, and recommended as a newsstand pickup if you like what is being features in that issue.
One can easily gather that this is a first generation of phone watches from large watch makers such as Tag Heuer. Here you basically find a phone jammed into a watch. In the future, one can anticipate phones taking the looks of watches, while retaining their expected level of functionality and reliability, until then the world has these toys to play with.
When selecting gifts stop torturing your mind with conceptions of what people want. Simply picture each person on your shopping list in your head and visualize what, in your opinion they are without or you would like them to have. This is the easiest and most personally rewarding way of giving of yourself! Aren't you looking forward to suggesting, "I'd sure like to see you in those new socks I got you!"
The German dive watch company NauticFish is an offshoot of the larger Schaumburg/Lindburgh & Benson watch group. A few years ago, the brand was set up as vehicle for more aggressive German watches that complimented, but did not necessarily compete with the popular Schaumburg line of diving watches.
While not knowing the details behind the C1's design, it is hard to accuse Concord or the new CEO of bad taste, or hasty decision making. Viewing the end product of any campaign is not a full telling of the efforts and intentions that went into the process. I therefore cannot say that this is a bad watch, or indicative of future watches to come out of Concord's new rule. I can however say that from a design perspective, this watch fails to live up to what a ,000 -,000 watch should be. No doubt many will be impressed by the Concord C1's bold and assertive looks. Others however will take issue with the many incomplete elements of the watch. The bottom line is that the C1 is not meant to be a cash cow for Concord. It is intended to bring attention to the brand. So that the new styling of the La Scala, Saratoga, and Mariner that I anticipate will arrive soon, will be all the more noticed by the watch loving public. These mainstream watches will be more important to Concord's future, and I can hope they will be given the necessary design treatments.

I discussed this watch before, and I love it! I will certainly own one someday. Search my blog for my article on the Louis Vuitton Tambour Diver.
The detachable quality of a mobile phone is what makes them something disconnected enough to be forgotten or under utilized. Like the watches we wear today, a mobile device on your wrist will truly become part of every ensemble. It will function much like today's mobile phones as a device on your wrist is close enough to your hand, it will be the same action, but it will look like our hand it empty, and we will of course still use wireless headset's like today's Bluetooth headsets.
As you can see, legibility is amazing, but to be expected from any Sinn watch. The only potential draw back is that it is a quartz movement. You simply cannot place a mechanical movement in this type of watch due to it being mostly filled with oil. If there was a way (or ever will be a way), Sinn will do it. A Sinn UX is currently available on eBay for a very healthy price under ,000. Because they watches are not mechanical movement based, they are not nearly as expensive as they could be. Size wise, the Sinn UX is a perfect size at 43mm wide and
